Pasta Days

We would like to encourage families to sign up for “Cash Online” but this note is to advise you that Pasta Days for Mr. Pickett’s/Mrs. Jones’ class (K1) and Mrs. Penner’s/Mrs. O’Neill’s/ Ms. Gilliam’s class (K3) will not be available for “Cash Online”.

Our pasta lunches generate some additional funds that are used to purchase items for our classroom. Your child’s teachers frequently buy items for the classroom (quite often from Dollarama) and the proceeds from the pasta money is much easier for us to access. We have advised Mr. Scott and Mrs. King of our intentions and the reasoning behind them.

We hope that you will continue to support our Pasta Days by filling out the form which we send home each month with your child’s order and returning it with the $3.00 (cash). Thanks so much!

Hot Dog Forms Due Tomorrow

Children wanting to participate in Hot Dog Day on Wednesday, March 2nd must send in their hot dog forms and money by tomorrow, March 1st. You will not be able to submit this through ON-LINE CASH.
CASH ON-LINE GOES LIVE TODAY

Beginning February 29th, parents and guardians will have the opportunity to pay for the majority of their child's school expenses (e.g., Pizza money, Milk Card money, field trip costs, etc...) through the CASH ON-LINE PROGRAM being utilized by the District School Board of Niagara. To date, many schools have already implemented this time saving program across the Board with overwhelmingly positive response from participating families. For further information or details on how to enroll in the program, please visit the Parnall School website which is available through www.dsbn.org. Click on the CASH ON-LINE icon and follow the prompts. Your participation in this new program is greatly appreciated.

RED, WHITE & PINK DAY

Tomorrow, February 12th is RED, WHITE & PINK DAY in Kindergarten. Throughout the rest of the school, older students will be dressing as twins. In the past, TWIN DAY has posed problems with some Kindergarten students who find themselves without a partner to 'TWIN' with throughout the day. To alleviate this problem, our students will be celebrating the morning by wearing clothing that is either pink, red, white or a combination of these three colours.

Also, if you are wishing to contribute a healthy snack item for our Valentine Party, please consider providing cheese, crackers, popcorn, veggies/dip or fresh fruit. There will be plenty of sugary treats to go around as many students often attach a piece of candy to each of their Valentine cards.

Thanks for your understanding and help in making our party a delicious and nutritious success.

Valentine Celebration

Next week the students in K-1 will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on the morning of February 12. This is an Early Release Day, so students will only be at school until 12:05PM. In preparation for our celebration, please give some consideration to the following items…

  • Each child will need to bring in an empty Kleenex box to decorate as a Valentine Card Box. Please send in a box with your child’s name written on the bottom before Monday, February 8th.

  • If your child wishes to make/give other students in the room a Valentine, please DO NOT address the outside of the cards with names as most of our children are non-readers. There are 27 students in our classroom.

  • If you are wanting to contribute a snack item for our party, please consider food options that are wholesome and healthy (e.g., fruit, vegetables, crackers, cheese, popcorn, etc…).

  • Children will not need to bring in a snack on Friday morning (Feb. 12th) as the ‘party food’ will be more than enough to satisfy the childrens' appetites throughout the morning.

Thank you for helping us make our Valentine celebration a success. If you have any questions, please send in a note or speak to Mr. Pickett or Mrs. Jones at drop-off/pick-up time.
