Tomorrow afternoon, students will be reunited with their Colour House teams for springtime games and activities. Students are reminded to wear clothing that coordinates with their team name to support their Colour House team.
AGAPE VALLEY FIELD TRIP TOMORROW  (April 1st)

Excitement is building as our Agape Valley Field trip approaches. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you and your child prepare for our sugar bush adventure.

-Make sure to arrive at school on time! Late comers may miss the bus. Buses will depart the school at 9:10 AM.

-Dress your child warmly. The morning promises to be cool and partly cloudy. Layered clothing is       suggested. You may also want to send your child in a rain jacket with a hood for extra protection in the event of rain.

-Have your child wear rain boots as the sugar bush may be muddy and wet.

We look forward to a wonderful learning experience. We'll see you bright and early tomorrow morning.

BEACH DAY is this Friday

Grab your suntan lotion and sunglasses...it's Beach Day this Friday, March 11th. As the weather may be chilly outside, plan accordingly. Children will still go outside for two lengthy recesses throughout the day so layers might be a good idea.

Looking forward to all of the 'beach front color'. Can you tell we are a bit anxious for spring to arrive?

FRED PENNER CONCERT
BUS DEPARTURE

It is very important that all students and parents attending the Fred Penner concert on Tuesday morning be at school prior to the 8:50 entry bell. Students will be quickly brought into the classroom, attendance will be taken and then they will immediately be loaded onto buses bound for Bethany Community Church. Departure from the school is expected to be 9:00 AM sharp! Thanks in advance for a punctual arrival. See you on Tuesday morning.

On Monday, March 7th, Mr. Pickett and Mrs. Jones will be away all day at a Professional Development event being held by DSBN at School Support Services. Mrs. Henderson will be overseeing the classroom with the aid of a supply RECE. Both teachers will be back in the classroom on Tuesday morning.

Kindergarten Agape Valley
Sugar Bush Trip

We are ready to enjoy Maple Syrup Days in Kindergarten! The children in the Parnall Kindergarten classes will be going by bus to Agape Valley (in Ridgeville) for a tour of the Sugar Bush. Our trip takes place on Friday morning, April 1st. We will be leaving Parnall School by bus at 9:10 (after attendance and pizza orders are taken) and our tour will begin promptly at 9:30. We will be unable to wait for late arrivals.

Please have your child dress appropriately for the weather. Boots and either snow pants or splash pants are A MUST! The tour will include a hay wagon ride from the Pancake House to the Sugar Bush operation, a hike through the bush to see different methods of sap collection and a visit to see how the syrup is bottled and labeled. The children will get to sample the syrup on fresh, hot pancakes. A juice box will also be provided. Please keep this in mind when packing snacks for later that morning. It is also a PIZZA DAY.

The cost of the trip is $12.00 per student, which includes the cost of the bus as well as entry into the Sugar Bush. Due to the large number of kindergarten children attending, we are limited to ONLY 3 parent volunteers per class. Parents who are chosen to attend the trip will be responsible for paying the $12.00 fee as well. DO NOT PAY THIS FEE UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN AND NOTIFIED. Payment for this trip can be made using the CASH ONLINE system OR you can submit payment to your classroom teacher.

If you would like to be considered as a parent volunteer for this trip, please advise Mr. Pickett by email (jack.pickett@dsbn.org). Mr. Pickett will notify you if you have been chosen to act as a parent volunteer.

We are looking forward to a delightful trip to the Sugar Bush.

CASH ONLINE

Have you registered for Cash Online yet? If not, why? This service is designed to make paying for school trips, pizza lunches and milk cards seamlessly easy. There are several ways of going about doing it. Simply log onto dsbn.org, find the Parnall School website and follow the prompts. It is fast, easy and extremely safe.

As an incentive, Mr. Scott is offering a PIZZA PARTY for the classroom that manages to have all its children's families enroll first. As an added incentive, we will provide an ice cream sundae party if we (K-1) happens to be the winner.

So, what are you waiting for? Log on today and register for Cash Online. Thanks for your help in moving us closer to our goal.
FRED PENNER FIELD TRIP RESCHEDULED

Our Fred Penner Concert field trip has been rescheduled for Tuesday morning, March 8th. The concert will be held at the same time and location (Bethany Community Church). We realize that the rescheduling of this trip may not allow either you or your child the opportunity to attend. Please get back with either Mrs. Jones or myself if your plans have changed as by Friday, March 4th.

As was previously mentioned in an earlier post, plan on arriving at school prior to the morning entry bell (8:50AM). Ask your child to remain in his/her winter wear and boots. We will take attendance, gather in our groups and board the buses immediately. We are scheduled to depart the school by 9:00AM. Those children arriving after 9:00AM will have to remain back at the school.

It is suggested that you remind your child to eat a hearty breakfast and go to the washroom prior to leaving your home as there will not be much time for this once we arrive at the school.

Thanks so much. We look forward to seeing you next Tuesday morning.

Mr. Pickett & Mrs. Jones
